Hello World
Maybe someday I will blog again…
Maybe someday I will blog again…
Another year has passed and a quick scan of Facebook shows that twenty-fourteen was either a dud, a win, or in most cases a jumbled mixture of the two.
Twenty-fourteen was a great year for our family. It had its challenges, but compared to the last two years it was refreshing, but that is not what this post is about.
I was reflecting on why we have these knee-jerk reflections on each year. Why are we so quick to throw out a year as good, bad, or indifferent? I believe it comes from our misplaced perspective throughout the year. It shows us that too often our days are not focused on Christ and glorifying Him in all things.
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. - 1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV)
We get caught up in our job status, relationships, health, and other fleeting and ever changing life circumstances. The end of every year should always be one of thanksgiving and worship, because the tomb is empty and Jesus is alive. Nothing else matters. Family, friends, jobs, churches, clubs, sports teams and health will always let us down. If you wake up tomorrow morning with breath in your lungs, use it to thank the one who promises to provide all that we need. May we remember that each day of 2015.
Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness! - Psalm 115:1 (ESV)
